Our Goals

Promote the development of the sport of rugby union by getting youngsters interested in the game.  Promotion of USA’s Rookie Rugby  in the schools as a Physical Education alternative to other sports has made huge strides in exposing flag rugby in both Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale.  It is estimated 78,000 kids will be playing flag rugby in school this year in Hillsbourough (Tampa) County alone. 

FLORIDA SBRO STRUCTURE is the organizational structure the Florida Rugby Union and the Florida Youth Rugby Union will use to promote rugby union football in all youth categories.  Florida is one of 14 states that have applied to USA Rugby to become a Level III State Based Rugby Organization.  Applying for consideration as an SBRO is the first step towards building strong administrative structures to increase the growth of youth and high school rugby in the USA.
